The CRC requires organisations with annual energy consumption of 6,000MWh/r or £500k annual spend to report their energy related carbon emissions. Organisations within the CRC scheme will have to purchase allowances to cover their emissions, set initially at £12/tonne CO2 with all payments recycled among participating organisations according to their place in the performance league table.
